KIM101/101E HAVUZ DERSLERİ HAKKINDA DUYURU/ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT KIM101/101E POOL COURSES

Sevgili Öğrencilerimiz,

2025-2026 Güz Döneminden itibaren İTÜ, Fen-Edebiyat Fakültesi tarafından yürütülen FİZİK, KİMYA VE MATEMATİK havuz derslerinde kullanılmak üzere her öğrenci için PearsonEğitim paketi satın almıştır. Bu paket derslere kayıt olan tüm öğrencilere ücretsiz olarak verilecektir. Bu eğitim paketinde tüm havuz derslerine ait ders materyalleri, haftalara göre hazırlanmış konu bazlı çalışma soruları, pearson+ uygulaması üzerinden çevrimdışı olarak derslerinin yapay zeka destekli, sesli, çeşitli dünya dillerine çevrilebilen e-textleri, aktif öğrenmeyi destekleyen ve geri bildirimlere göre öğrenciye ders bazında çalışma planları sağlayan içeriklerden oluşur.

HAVUZ DERSLERİNİN YÜRÜTÜLMESİNDE ÖNEMLİ NOTLAR

• Havuz derslerinde (ve uygulamalarında) %70 devam zorunluluğu bulunmaktadır. Her ders imzalı yoklama alınacaktır. Derslerin son saat diliminde kısa sınav için gelen öğrenci dersliklere alınmayacaktır. Yoklama sonrasında listeler kontrol edildiğinde başkasının yerine imza atan öğrenci tespit edilirse 2547 sayılı Yükseköğretim Kanunu'nun 54. maddesine göre işlem yapılacaktır.

• Havuz derslerinde geçme notu %30 kısa sınav (10 adet), %30 ara sınav ve %40 dönem sonu sınavı ile hesaplanacaktır. Dönem sonu sınavına girebilme koşulu (VF koşulu) %70 derse devam ve 10 adet kısa sınava katılmış olmak ve ara sınava girmektir. VF alan öğrenci dönem sonu sınavına giremez. Harf notları İTÜ Senato Esaslarına göre belirlenir.

• Ara sınav ve dönem sonu sınavlarında “Fen-Edebiyat Fakültesi Havuz Sınav Yönetmeliği” uygulanacaktır. İlgili yönetmeliğe Fen-Edebiyat Fakültesi web sayfası üzerinden ulaşılabilir.

• Daha önceden belirlenerek ders izlencesinde ilan edilen tarihlerde dersin sonunda Pearson MyLab/Mastering platformları üzerinden kısa sınav yapılacaktır. Kısa sınavlar o günkü ders konularını kapsayacaktır. Öğrenciler kısa sınavlara cep telefonları, tablet veya bilgisayarları ile katılabilirler. Ancak başka birinin hesabı ile daha önce sisteme giriş yapılan bir cihazla farklı bir hesaptan giriş yapılmaya çalışılırsa öğrencilerin Pearson hesapları bloke olacaktır. Bu nedenle her öğrenci sisteme sadece kendi cihazı ile giriş yapmalıdır.

• Her bir kısa sınavın nota katkısı %3’tür. Kısa sınavların mazereti yoktur. Derse katılım göstermemiş öğrenciler veya kısa sınavlarından 0 (sıfır) alan öğrenciler bölümlerin daha sonra ilan edeceği tarihlerde çevrimiçi olarak kendilerine atanan en fazla üç adet ödevi yapabilirler. Bunun için rapor veya izin/görevlendirme belgesi gerekmemektedir. Ödevler tüm öğrencilere açıktır. Her bir ödev bir kısa sınav yerine geçecektir. Öğrencinin en yüksek not aldığı 10 adet kısa sınav/veya ödev not hesaplanmasında kullanılacaktır. Yoklama listesinde adı ve imzası bulunan öğrencinin kısa sınav notu geçerli sayılacaktır.

•  Kimya (KIM 101/E) derslerinde dönemin ikinci haftasında, derslere kayıtlı tüm öğrencilere deneme kısa sınavları yapılacaktır. Bu sınavlara katılım ZORUNLUDUR. Sınavlar tüm hafta boyunca 7/24 açık kalacaktır. Her öğrenci dönemin üçüncü haftasına kadar bu kısa sınavları başarı ile tamamlamalıdır. Bu sınavları yapmanın amacı öğrencilerin Pearson platformuna kayıtlarının sorunsuz olarak gerçekleşmesi içindir. 

• Pearson MyLab/Mastering platformlarına kayıt rehberi, Pearson teknik destek ve iletişim bilgileri, kısa sınav rehberi ve sık karşılaşılan sorunların listesi ile her ders için platformların kısa tanıtım videoları moodle.itu.edu.tr adresinden elde edilebilinir. Öğrenciler itu kullanıcı adı/şifresiyle moodle.itu.edu.tr adresinden giriş yaptıktan sonra ana sayfalarındaki derslerinin CRN’leri altında ilgili dokümanlara ulaşabilir. Ayrıca bu dokümanlara Fen-Edebiyat Fakültesi web sayfasından ve ilgili bölümlerin havuz sayfalarından da elde edebilirler.

• Pearson platformuna kayıtlarını herhangi bir nedenle gerçekleştiremeyen öğrenciler dönemin ilk haftasında mutlaka Pearson whatsapp destek hattına (0532 139 82 81) veya yardim.pearson.com.tr adresine isim, öğrenci numarası, kayıtlı oldukları dersin CRN bilgileri ile aldıkları hata kodlarını da yazarak destek alabilirler. 

Dear Students,

Starting from the Fall Semester of 2025–2026, ITU has purchased a Pearson Education package for each student to be used in the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics pool courses. This package will be provided free of charge to all students enrolled in these courses. The package includes all course materials for the pool courses, topic-based weekly practice questions, AI-supported e-texts that can be listened to offline and translated into various world languages via the Pearson+ application, and interactive content that supports active learning and provides course-specific study plans based on feedback.

IMPORTANT NOTES ON THE CONDUCT OF POOL COURSES 

•Attendance: A minimum of 70% attendance is required for lectures. Attendance will be taken with signed sheets for every class. Students arriving only for the short quiz at the end of the class period will not be admitted. If it is determined that a student signed on behalf of someone else, action will be taken in accordance with Article 54 of the Higher Education Law No. 2547.

• Grading: The final grade will be calculated as 30% quizzes (10 total), 30% midterm, and 40% final exam.
      o To be eligible to take the final exam (VF requirement), students must attend at least 70% of classes, complete all 10 quizzes, and take the midterm.
      o Students who do not meet these requirements (receive a VF) cannot take for the final exam.
      o Letter grades are determined according to ITU Senate regulations.

• Examination Rules: Midterm and final exams will follow the Faculty of Science and Letters Pool Exam Regulations, available on the faculty website: https://fe.itu.edu.tr/haberdetay/2025/09/24/havuz-s%C4%B1nav-kurallar%C4%B1

• Quizzes: On dates announced in advance in the course syllabus, quizzes will be administered at the end of class via the Pearson MyLab/Mastering platforms and will cover that day’s topics.
      o Students may take these quizzes using a smartphone, tablet, or computer.
      o If a device previously used to log in with another person’s account is used to log in with a different account, the student’s Pearson account will be blocked. Therefore, each student must log in only with their own device and account.

• Scoring of Quizzes: Each quiz contributes 3% to the course grade.
       o No make-ups are provided for quizzes.
       o Students who do not attend class or receive a zero on a quiz may complete up to three online assignments (dates announced later by departments) to replace up to two missed quizzes. No medical report or permission slip is required for these assignments, which are open to all students.
       o The highest 10 scores from quizzes and/or assignments will count toward the grade.
       o A student’s quiz score is valid only if their name and signature appear on the attendance sheet.

• Demo Quizzes:
        o For Physics (FIZ 101/E and FIZ 102E) and Chemistry (KIM 101/E), demo quizzes will be given in the second week of the semester.
        o For Mathematics (MAT 103/E and MAT 104E), trial quizzes will be given in the first and second weeks.
        o Participation is mandatory. These quizzes remain open 24/7 for the entire week, and every student must complete them by the third week. The purpose is to ensure smooth registration on the Pearson platform.

• Resources & Guides:
       o Registration guides for Pearson MyLab/Mastering, technical support contacts, a quiz guide, FAQs, and short introductory videos for each course are available at moodle.itu.edu.tr. After logging in with your ITU username/password, you can find the relevant documents under the CRN of your course on the main page.
       o These documents are also accessible on the Faculty of Science and Letters website and on the pool course pages of the respective departments.

• Technical Support:
       o Students who cannot register on the Pearson platform for any reason must contact Pearson WhatsApp support (+90 532 139 82 81) or yardim.pearson.com.tr during the first week of the semester. Provide your name, student number, CRN of the course, and any error codes you received when requesting assistance.
